A CHILD’S STRUGGLES
We met Ivan when he was 13 years old; he was at the orphanage in the city. Again, the child protection agency had asked our family to accept him to look after him, so we did.
Ivan finished secondary school, and while we made the effort to send him to a theological school in Romania, he abandoned studies after the first year. He was then conscripted for a year in the Army, after which he tried to look for a purpose in life, and then he went to work in Russia, working in casual day jobs.
Currently we are supporting him morally and financially when possible, providing him with food and other assistance. He is a very quiet boy but is emotionally troubled, because he was abandoned as a child.
