Masha has a place to live and a place to work.
Masha was born in Leova. When we met her in 2004, she was six years old. A lady working for the child protection agency asked us to look after Masha during summer holiday and we accepted.
Her mother was an alcoholic, and her father refused to look after her. They were deprived of parental rights, and she has lived with the priest’s family ever since.
Masha grew up, graduated from secondary school, and then vocational school qualifying as a tailor. The priest’s family is still supporting her because she hasn’t reached the age of maturity. We hired her to cook for the social canteen so she feels close to us and has some responsibility. It is important that she receives a salary and is able to buy something for herself, and the people at the canteen are happy that they receive a great meal.
