WHAT WE DO
Speranta in Isus (Hope in Jesus) is a charity dedicated to providing hope and help, in a Christian way, to people in Moldova.
Person by person, village by village, alleviate and prevent hunger or suffering. Provide practical support for those who would otherwise have none. Generate sufficient funds to create lasting initiatives.
To bring Christian hope and concrete help to the vulnerable in Moldova, particularly the very old, young, and needy.
Moldova as a prosperous, independent, Christian, European, country with no hunger or suffering but lots of hope and opportunity.
What the above all means in a practical sense is that through a local church in Moldova we stay close to both the needs of the community in general and the specific individuals. Our focus is very much those in desperate situations who have been abandoned by everyone else, and for whom Speranta is their only hope.
Therefore the first step is to give these people direct concrete help related to their physical needs. Things like food or heating to stay alive, and in the case of the younger people, education e.g., anti drug messages.
Also very important is the pastoral care and hope that comes from knowing that they are not alone or forgotten and that someone does care. God is reaching out to them through Speranta and cares very much about them. This is the basis of hope, hope that can bring a smile to faces, and comfort to young people, the elderly and families alike.
We want you to be part of this message of care too. So join us by donating or helping in any way you feel called to.
